As a result of the royal assent given to Bill 2, Back to School Act (2025), the central terms for all public, Catholic, and francophone teachers have now been enacted into law. The legislation also freezes all local terms in every local collective agreement for the duration of the legislation, which is set to expire on August 31, 2028.

Work is now underway to incorporate the legislated terms into current collective agreements. Although this will take some time, it is important for members to access the terms and conditions of their agreements. Until the amalgamations are complete, members should review not only their current collective agreement, which they can access by selecting their school division from the drop-down menu below, but also check the legislated central terms to see what has changed.

As there is no local bargaining for this round due to legislation, Teacher Employment Services (TES) and local Teacher Welfare Committees will review local letters of understanding that may require further discussions with local employers.
